Why a Border-Papillon Hybrid?

Image
Why a Papillon? 1) They are smart and love to please .  This is the main quality of the Border Collie I love.   2) Another shared quality is that they are agile .   For a little dog, they a super quick and not in just a straight direction.  They can also jump really high and play or run for a long time without being tired.   That being said, they are just too small to take on a real hike or run.  3) Of all of the dogs, the fur of the Papillon flows and is soft around the face.  Their fur comes in the basic colors  of Border Collies.  Even their ears vary like Border Collies’ prick or flop.   4) Papillons are known for their health .  Of all small breeds, Papillons have fewer health problems.   5) Heat and Cold Tolerant .  Most little dogs stand the heat and some really enjoy it.  But none can stand the cold.  They are just too small.  But, as far as small dogs go, the Pappillon tolerates col...

“Chuckles” - Papillon (Dad)

Image
Chuckles cracks me up with his acrobatic antics.   He is such a fun and happy dog.  If he were a girl, I definitely would have named him joy, because he brings so much joy into the house.  He is very smart and a quick learner too.  His favorite spot to hang out is on the foot of my recliner (so now I leave the foot up for him even when I am not sitting in the chair).  Highlight Video of Chuckles: https://youtu.be/6vfj9iURuYA

“Macy” Tri Border Collie (Mom)

Image
Macy is AKC, but her lineage traces to more recent ABCA and relatives hale from Colorado, Utah, Montana and a variety of other states.  What this means is genetic diversity which is great. Macy is fast in a sprint and has quick agile moves, she is also intense, but not so much that she doesn't respond to command.  Just look at her with the ball.  She is responsive and loves to please too. To top it off, she is a sweetheart and just a lovable dog that you couldn't ask more of. At 7 mos:  Macy is perplexed.  She thought she understood this human.    Macy entertains herself:  At 4 mos. Macy is fetching fairly well and rolls over for a treat.  She is going on hikes with Yansa and the family and listens extremely well.  In 2 months, Macy has quickly learned her name, no, come, sit and down.  She has started to pick up roll over and I literally just taught her to speak on command in 10 minutes!   She also runs back...

“Moo Moo” - 75% BC / 25% Pap (Mom)

Image
I watched a friends Beagle.  I got a stick to separate MooMoo from the Beagle as they met.  MooMoo made it a game.   VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/G9Z0lyjk-Fc?feature=shared “Moo Moo”.  Works hard, plays hard.  Well, ok, she just plays hard.  But she is all out, but very “biddable” (willing to please).  She is the first to come running when I whistle and follows me around as I do yard work.  Quick and agile, but solely due to her size (and I mean solely) is not quit as fast as the full sized Border Collies.  But “almost.”   She is right there with them at every turn and never gives up.  Moo Moo loves water.  3 VIDEOS: 1.    https://youtube.com/shorts/NIn1pn5avcU?feature=shared 2.   https://youtube.com/shorts/jRxTUdIbvXM?feature=shared 3.   https://youtube.com/shorts/UNbXG1uzuls?feature=shared  If I could only keep one dog, this would be the one. I am also partial to her because she is very af...
